Sania Mirza is a star tennis player in India.Sania Mirza was born in Mumbai, on November 15, 1986, and brought up in Hyderabad. Coached by her father, Imran Mirza, (as well as her other family members) she began playing tennis at the age of six, turning professional in 2003. She is the highest ranked female tennis player ever from India, with a career high ranking of 27 in singles and 18 in doubles. 12 year Vishakhapatnam boy performed a sky jump from the world's tallest bungee jump tower in Macau. Twelve-year-old Avinash Kamal was in Macau during the Dasara vacation and visited the 233-metre tall bungee jump tower. Korea win Junior Asia Cup Hockey semifinal
Hyderabad: The South Koreans expectedly beat Japan in the semifinal to set up the final against India in the Junior Asia Cup Hockey. The Koreans won 4-2 at the Gachibowli stadium on Wednesday. Nam Hyun Woo played brilliantly to score all the goals, in the ninth, 14th, 38th and 65th minutes. After trailing 2-0 Japan tried to hit back but could only find two goals through Keni Kitazato in the 61st minute and Ryohei Kawahi in the 69th minute. Sacked KPS Gill set to attend Indian Hockey Federation meet
Hyderabad: Axed president of the dissolved Indian Hockey Federation, KPS Gill, is set to attend the Asian Hockey Confederation’s executive committee meeting here on Thursday. Sources said Gill will attend the meeting as it is open for only the elected members of the Asian federation. India has four persons in the Committee including K. Jothikumaran, who has resigned as IHF secretary following allegations of bribery. Andhra Pradesh emerged the team champions in the women’s section while hosts Uttar Pradesh finished on top among men for the second year running in the Junior National Weightlifting Championships, which ended here on Sunday.
