Hyderābād state under the Nizams, was the largest princely state in the erstwhile Indian Empire. The Berar region of present day Vidarbha in
Maharashtra was merged with the Central Provinces in 1903, to form Central Provinces and Berar.
Hyderabad state was located in south-central Indian subcontinent from 1724 until 1948, ruled by a hereditary Nizam.
During partition of India in 1947, the Nizam of Hyderabad declared his intentions of not joining either newly formed India or Pakistan. Sensing trouble,
India launched Operation Polo which resulted in the absorption of Hyderabad into the Indian Union, in 1948.Hyderabad is the capital city and most populous
city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Greater Hyderabad metropolitan area is the second largest in India having an estimated
metropolitan population of 9.6 million, making it an A-1 status city.

Hyderabad girl Naina’s rare feat |

Naina, a Hyderabadi girl, has achieved the rare distinction of clearing the tenth grade International General Certificate of Secondary Education examination in May-June at a young age of 8 years three months. She appeared for the examination from Sri International School, Himayathnagar.
Recognising her talent, the school authorities encouraged the gifted child and trained her for two years and obtained permission from University of Cambridge, London, for the 'O' level examination.
